Season's Greetings and IAU Travel Grant Evaluation

We wish the IAUS405 registered participants, invited speakers, SOC and LOC members a happy New Year full of scientific discoveries! On December 31st 2025 we stopped receiving applications for the IAU Travel Grant. We received 49 applications that we will evaluate in the first half of January 2026. Subsequently the applicants will be informed about the results. 

 

The background photo of the greetings card was taken in the High Tatras, in Slovakia, specifically at the Skalnaté pleso observatory. The EHT image of Sgr A* including polarization was added to replace the Sun (the angular scale on the sky roughly matches the expected one if Sgr A* would be 1 AU away). The snow and the Christmas tree were added by ChatGPT (credit: Michal Zajaček).
